The pool
Our summer travels began in St. George, UT at Grandma and Grandpa Nolte's house. The temp in St. George was about 110 degrees almost every day. So, the pool was by far the most popular place to be. The kids had so much fun. Grandpa and Ben spent the most time in the pool with the kids. Ben even ran swim lessons and he spent a lot of time throwing the kids up in the air! Check out the cool action shots.
Summer in one picture
We had a wonderful summer. Most of our July was spent traveling and visiting family. This is one of my favorite pictures from the summer; even if it is out of focus. I feel like it captures the fun the kids really had this summer with cousins. I am going to be doing a series of summer posts with lots of pictures, so beware!

4th of July
We have been gone for the three years for the 4th. The fireworks used to be on the East side and for the last three years they have been on the West Side. We wanted to make sure we caught the fireworks this year in case they move the fireworks back to the East Side!
We spent our morning at a local parade. The kids decorated their scooters and helmets. I decorated the stroller. We followed a fire truck around the block and voila, We were in a 4th of July parade. The best part is at the end when the firetruck turns on its fire house and the kids (and adults) play in the water.
That evening we arrived early to the 72nd street pier and hung out with friends for 5 hours waiting for the fireworks to begin. I should add that it was about 95 degrees with 90% humidity. We were grateful for the great company!

Gavin's Birthday
Gavin celebrated his 7th birthday in June. We started on off his birthday in Long Island. We were there for a little overnight visit and they were so nice and had balloons and streamers for him when he woke up.
He has become a huge baseball and Yankees fan this last year, so we decided to go to a Yankees game for his birthday. We found some cheap tickets on Stub Hub, so he was able to bring a few friends and their dads. We had a pregame party with hotdogs and cake. I also prepared a gift bag with ballpark treats like cotton candy, peanuts, and cracker jacks. I was pretty surprised how much the boys watched the game and really enjoyed it (even if they lost). It was a great birthday!
